I'm at a loss and wondering if there is any way I can just reset everything to factory settings to recreate the files that I've lost. I've tried all of the usual, reset nvram, smc/PRAM, fresh install of monterey from recovery, repair via disk utility, created a new admin user. I'm also missing all of the icons from my top bar except the finder magnifying glass when not in safe boot so think something more must have been deleted. It seems I have actually deleted some system files with this as well as I can no longer access the sound preferences unless in a safe boot and even then, there are no settings I can change as it appears that my speakers/headphone output are no longer there nor is the built-in mic as an input device. I had recently uninstalled quite a few audio applications and there seemed to be a ton of files here so deleted them. I had about half of my SSD full with "other" files so was trying to browse through library files to see what I might be able to get rid of. I was attempting to upgrade from Big Sur to Monterey and needed to create some space on my Macbook Pro (2017, Intel-based).
